The Fall of Man

Showcased: STLFW Summer 26

The Fall of Man looks at the relationship between humanity, labor, capitalism, and the natural world through garments made from repurposed Carhartt denim. The collection starts with the history of American workwear, using structured, wearable silhouettes and familiar materials. Tailored details, including the recurring necktie motif, reference labor culture while giving classic workwear a more modern feel. Crochet denim appears throughout as a sign of a society that has been pulled apart, adding texture and movement.

As the collection continues, the garments shift into more organic shapes inspired by trees, roots, and nature, showing humanity’s connection to the earth. These elements then become darker and more restrictive, with black taking over to reflect greed, materialism, and distance from the environment.
